Roles and Responsibilities: Engineers and STEM Professionals 

The emergence of virtual worlds has already unveiled an array of challenges. From consumer safety, especially that of children, to preventing false information, ensuring cybersecurity, and stopping cybercrime. Therefore, policymakers must join forces with Engineers and STEM professionals to craft and enforce regulations governing.  

In ANE, we’ve been focusing on AI and ethics since 2016. Our goal is to bring balance to discussions around this topic and cast engineers as advocates for the ethical advancement of AI and other emerging technologies. More than just developing innovative solutions, Nordic engineers and STEM professionals play a key role in shaping rules and ethical guidelines. This ensures that our innovations not only push boundaries but also respect and reflect the values of our society.

In ANE, we recognize the pivotal role of unions and Nordic associations in empowering engineers and STEM professionals to act as responsible agents of change. Collaborative efforts are essential to leveraging collective resources and expertise, enabling us to tackle complex challenges and propose effective solutions. Despite our nations’ sizes, by establishing a unified stance on an international platform, we amplify our collective voice.
