Enhancing STEM Talents & Diversity

Enhancing STEM Talents & Diversity

ANE works to ensure STEM remains a top priority in Nordic and EU policy. We call for a strategic focus on developing technical capabilities that match Europe’s competitive and resilience needs, and for recognising diverse pathways into engineering and technology, including vocational, university, and lifelong learning routes.

We aim to inspire young people to pursue STEM and we work to increase women’s participation, retain senior engineers for vital knowledge transfer, and promote inclusive practices that value neurodivergent professionals

How we work

  • We address the STEM skills gap and promote cross-border collaboration.
  • We advocate for enhancing the education system to produce more specialists in STEM fields and boosting STEM education in primary and secondary schools to make it more appealing to younger generations.
  • We advocate for lifelong learning opportunities and for the recognition of diverse pathways into engineering and technology.
  • We highlight disparities in the workforce and educational field related to diversity and inclusion.
  • We advocate for and share knowledge on practices that attract young people and women to STEM fields, retain seniors, and value neurodivergent professionals.
