The 4th of March is World Engineering Day, and ANE celebrated the WED2022 with a live panel debate on the sustainable future of Engineering. We invited a panel of Nordic engineering and sustainability experts to discuss and challenge our thinking about the future role of engineers.
The entire debate was recorded and can be viewed below. ANE Secretary General Inese Podgaiska moderated the debate, and the panellists were:
- Ms Paula Laine, CEO, The Finnish Climate Fund, Finland
- Mr Trond Markussen, President of ANE and NITO, Norway
- Ms Monika Skadborg, Board Member, European Youth Forum, Denmark
- Ms Aurore Belfrage, Co-Founder SusTechable, Sweden
- Dr Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector, University of Iceland
The tone for the debate was set by four scenarios describing the possible role of engineers in 2030. The scenarios were specially produced for this occasion in partnership with Kjaer Global Ltd.
As part of the live event, we reshared the award-winning 2021 ANE Student Network WED video, and on the same day, we premiered the 2022 ANE Student Network WED video on our social media channels. Both videos are available for viewing further below.
